2 minute silence observed at District Poonch to mark solidarity with victims of Pahalgam terror attack

in a heartfelt expression of grief and solidarity, the District Administration Poonch, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal, today observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the innocent lives lost in the recent horrific terror attack in Pahalgam. The solemn gathering was held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex and was attended officers and officials from various departments.

The condolence meeting served as a unified expression of mourning and support from the people of Poonch to the victims and their families. As the country reels from the brutal attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, the District Administration took a moment to reflect on the gravity of the incident and to reaffirm its commitment to peace, unity, and the sanctity of human life.

Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal addressed the gathering, extending heartfelt condolences on behalf of the district administration and the people of Poonch. He emphasized that the attack was not only an assault on innocent civilians but a deep wound inflicted upon the conscience of humanity.

“This is a dark chapter in our national history, one that has shaken us all. We stand in mourning, but also in resolve. We stand with the bereaved families in this hour of unimaginable pain, and we offer prayers and strength for the swift recovery of those who were injured,” the Deputy Commissioner stated.

He also called upon every citizen to reject violence and extremism in all forms, and to uphold the principles of harmony and collective resilience. “Terrorism has no place in our society. Our unity is our strength, and we must not let such incidents divide us. Let this moment of silence echo as a message of peace across the valley and beyond,” he added.

The District Administration reaffirmed its unwavering support to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir and the nation at large in this time of collective mourning. The Deputy Commissioner assured that all possible administrative and humanitarian support will be extended wherever necessary.

The event concluded with silent prayers for the departed souls and a renewed pledge to stand together against all forces of hatred and violence.
