Poonch 12 May 2025 Advocate Abdul Rahim Jatt Said, it pains me deeply to bring to light the grave situation that has unfolded in the border district of Poonch. The district has been brutally bled repeated ceasefire violations Pakistan. The people of Poonch, including innocent children, have made unimaginable sacrifices — some have laid down their lives, others have been grievously injured, and countless families have been shattered forever. These brave citizens stood firm at the frontline, bearing the brunt of aggression, not for any personal gain, but for the pride and protection of our nation.

Despite such heavy loss and trauma, it is deeply disheartening to note that no visit has yet been made our Chief Minister to express solidarity or even to assess the situation firsthand. The people feel abandoned in their hour of greatest need. They have not only lost loved ones, but also their homes, their belongings, and their sense of security.

Entire buildings have been reduced to rubble. Families who once lived modestly but peacefully are now left homeless, sheltering under open skies, without even the basic necessities. These are not wealthy people — they are farmers, laborers, and small shopkeepers — common citizens who are forced to gather meager resources to rebuild their lives from scratch. Many are collecting small amounts of money just to put together a makeshift shelter for their children. Is this the fate our border heroes deserve?

The people of Poonch are not asking for luxuries. They are demanding dignity, support, and acknowledgment. At the very least, they deserve the presence and reassurance of their elected leaders. A visit from the Chief Minister, a gesture of care and responsibility, could bring hope and healing to a wounded population. It is not just about relief; it is about recognition, justice, and moral responsibility.

I urge the government to take immediate steps — send teams for relief and rehabilitation, compensate the affected families adequately, and most importantly, listen to the voices of those who are too often ignored. Let us not allow the sacrifices of the people of Poonch to go unnoticed or unhonored.Poonch has suffered enough. It is time the state stood with its people.
